Getting Started
Connect your accounts and run your first search.
You need an Icebreaker account and at least one connected network.
1. Sign in
Go to app.icebreaker.xyz and sign in or create an account.
2. Connect a network
Aggregate across the networks you already use, including LinkedIn, X, and GitHub.
Open Linked accounts.
LinkedIn. Start here. You can upload your connections export (fastest way to get going; see How to Export Your LinkedIn Data) or install the Chrome extension to keep LinkedIn in sync. You can do both.
X and GitHub. Connect these on the same page. Each one adds people to your network. More sources mean more results and more paths.
You can also import Private Contacts on Linked accounts when you have them.
3. Run your first search
Open app.icebreaker.xyz and try a plain language search in Chat:
"Engineers in my network who worked at Stripe"
"Who do I know at Figma?"
"Product designers in New York"
See Searching Your Network for filters and tips.
4. Use Icebreaker in your AI tool (optional)
The Icebreaker MCP server lets you search your network from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other MCP clients. It is available on every plan, including Free. See MCP Quickstart.
Working with your team
Icebreaker for Individuals is for searching your own network. If you want your team on one shared network, use Icebreaker for Teams.
If your results look thin
Check that LinkedIn is connected and your export has been uploaded. Then add X and GitHub.
