Getting Started

Get your team up and running in three steps: connect your accounts, set up your team, and run your first search.

Step 1: Connect your accounts

Sign in at app.icebreaker.xyz and connect your professional accounts. Each account you connect makes your network searchable for your team.

LinkedIn -- the most important connection for hiring. Connects your first-degree LinkedIn connections.

GitHub -- useful for engineering and technical searches.

X/Twitter -- useful for finding founders, operators, and community members.

You do not need all three. Start with LinkedIn and add others as you go.

After connecting, Icebreaker queues a graph sync. Initial syncs typically complete within a few minutes.

Step 2: Join or set up your team

To join an existing team:

Go to app.icebreaker.xyz/teams/join and enter your invite code or team domain.

To see the teams you belong to:

Go to app.icebreaker.xyz/settings/teams.

To invite teammates:

Go to the /Team tab in the left nav. This shows all members, collaborators, and admins on your team. From here you can invite new members by email directly to become collaborators.

To manage your team plan or settings:

Go to app.icebreaker.xyz/teams/{your-domain}/settings. For example, if your team domain is acme.com, that would be app.icebreaker.xyz/teams/acme.com/settings.

Every teammate who connects their accounts expands your collective search graph. More connected accounts means more referral candidates surfaced in searches.

Step 3: Run your first search

There are two ways to search:

Chat is the default tab. Type a natural language query and Icebreaker will search your team's network and return results conversationally. You can do almost everything from Chat.

Network is the structured search tab, suited for boolean or filter-style searches if you prefer more explicit control over query parameters.

Try a query like:

Senior product designer, B2B SaaS, New York

Golang engineer, web3 experience

Results show each referral candidate with a connection path, the teammate who knows them, and a trust score indicating relationship strength.
